If you are attending one of our massage courses in Dublin you might want to explore the city and enjoy some of the local food. Dublin is a city that is known for its unmistakable Irish charm. From sweeping mountains, to stunning coastlines and the green in between, this traditional capital city has a lively flare, and plenty to enjoy. Steeped in tradition and history, yet blended with modern energy, this multi-layered city does not disappoint. Even the most discerning traveller can let loose and enjoy themselves here, especially as fresh flavors infuse with energy from the locals, creating an experience like no other. There is a reason Dubliners are known to be some of the friendliest people on the planet, it’s no surprise that the lovely sounds of their chatter and laughter will stick with you, long after you’re gone.

From the budget conscious to the ultra weathly, Dublin restaurants have it all. With dishes ranging from classic coddle to the more sophisticated Irish oysters, refueling in Dublin is no doubt one of the most exciting places to nosh. Here is where you can savor the flavor:

Street Eats:

Linger over an outdoor lunch at the Temple Bar Farmers Market. This open air market is held on Saturdays from 10 until 5, and showcases the best of the fresh, including homemade treats. There is something for everyone here, as the market is packed full of a mixture of artisan specialties and traditional street food fare.

Sample a taste from a food vendor at The Eatyard, a newcomer on Dublin’s street food scene. Tucked into a corner, chefs at these stalls are tasked with elevating traditional street eats and turning them into innovative and unique dishes. There is a great variety of choice here, with over ten vendors represented. Open Thursdays through Sundays, this small space can seem a bit crowded at times, but most would agree that this just adds to the fun.

Budget Bites:

For early risers, the hearty breakfast served at the Stage Door Café can’t be beat. The service here is friendly and the food is excellent. Be sure to try the Irish coffee, as it is some of the best in town. Though they are best known for their breakfast offerings, dinner is great too. No doubt you will be served with the same warm, welcoming attitude no matter what time you dine.

The delicious aromas are what draw you in to Keogh’s Café, but their delicious sweet treats are what keep you here. And, with an average price range under 10 Euros per person, what’s not to like? Keogh’s is a cute little coffee shop, serving arguably the best scones in town. They are open daily, and can become quite busy during the lunch rush, though once you taste their popular pastries, you will surely see why.

Fun Pubs:

Pub life is a priority around Dublin, but if you are looking for something quirky and not quite as mainstream as the rest, Mary’s Bar and Hardware Shop is not to be missed. Open daily at 11, this spirited location has such a cool vibe. Guinness is flowing, so is the Irish whiskey, which makes for a fun, and festive crowd. There is live music on Tuesdays and host many drink specials on Whiskey Wednesdays, but have a whole host of board games (and burgers!) in the basement to enjoy if quiet is more your cup of tea.

There sure is something special about the Stag’s Head. Not only is it one of Dublin’s oldest, it is also one of the most beautiful. Get to this popular spot early so you can catch a glimpse of the lovely wood floor and stained glass before it gets too busy. There is a good mix of tourists and locals here, but the food, drink, and atmosphere are authentically Irish. Don’t miss the bangers and mash, it’s excellent.

Fine Fare:

Dining in a quintessential Irish ‘Eating House’ is only part of the charm of the Woolen Mills. Drink a pint (or two) of craft beer from the rooftop, and take in the view of the River Liffey. There is an element of history here, as this building has been a staple in Dublin for over 100 years. This is truly food for those who love to eat, from filling breakfast dishes to seven course dinner specialties; Woolen Mills is a true gem.

If exclusivity is what you crave, you can’t go wrong with Fire. Located in the posh Mansion House, Fire is a grand choice for fine dining. Its stained glass windows and vaulted ceilings are fit for a king…or at least a Lord, as it is housed in what was once the Supper Room of the Lord Mayor’s private residence. In fact, the Lord Mayor still resides here, even after Fire opened its doors in 2005. Menus here are created with passion, and feature fresh, local ingredients that lend themselves to sustainable dishes bursting with flavors. Consider choosing the table d’hôte menu, at 39.50 Euros this multi course meal is always delightful. With an extensive wine list and service to match, Fire is the perfect place to spend an evening with the one you love.

Dublin’s food scene often gets overlooked for the impressive variety of whiskey it offers. What was once billed as a boring, potato based cuisine is now a contemporary infusion of traditional and modern flavor. From food truck to five star, chefs here have brought locally sourced ingredients to the forefront, and this has made all the difference. No matter your taste, and no matter your budget, you are sure to find something to wow you.
